| My online photo album, at one time hosted directly on this blog, is         |
| currently hosted elsewhere at this domain using the excellent open source   |
| software, Gallery 2.0. Most of the photos are mundane travel snaps, but I   |
| do have a gallery of photos showing malfunctioning embedded and industrial  |
| computer systems in public places around the world.                         |
|                                                                             |
| Most are just airport departure screens and the like, but the doozy of them |
| all is a massive electronic billboard in Times Square, that must have been  |
| seen by thousands! If there is any point to this collection at all, it is   |
| to illustrate the perhaps obvious advice that if you want a stable,         |
| reliable system for displaying information to the public, you shouldn't run |
| it on Microsoft Windows.                                                    |
|                                                                             |
| (Yes, there is one Linux screen shown from an airline entertainment         |
| system, but it is just booting up not crashing, and there is even one Mac   |
| OS screen - again, not crashing but has dropped out of kiosk mode.)         |
